All Star McGrath pays tribute to Sixmilebridge Camogie Club

Clare's newest All Star has identified the structures in her club as central to her recognition on the national stage.

Sixmilebridge's Maire McGrath, who hails from Cratloe, was honoured as the best full back in the country at the 2014 All Star Awards.

It caps off a year for the Banner which saw a first ever appearance in the Division One League Final, while Colm Honans side also brought the defending All Ireland champions Galway to extra time before bowing out at the Quarter Final stage of the championship.

Maire McGrath, a sister of 2013 All Ireland winner and All Star Conor McGrath, became just the third ever Clare woman to pick up a camogie All Star, following in the footsteps of Catherine O'Loughlin and Chloe Morey.

McGrath and Morey are clubmates in Sixmilebridge, and McGrath says a lot of hard work in the club has led to their success.
