Mulqueen backs move to replace players shown two yellow cards

A member of the Clare senior hurlers backroom team has given his backing to the proposal by the Hurling 2020 commitee to substitute rather than send off a player who picks up two yellow cards in a game.

The committee, chaired by former Tipperary All Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy, and including double All Ireland winning Clare defender Frank Lohan, say in their report that teams are often reduced to 14 men for what are minor infringements.
