Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald will be without a number of key players for this weekends Waterford Crystal Cup Quarter Final clash against Tipperary.
Third level players who have already represented their colleges are ineligible to play, while the U21 All Ireland winning heros are on a weekend away.
It's the first time the Banner will be in competitive action since losing to Wexford in an All Ireland Qualifier last July.
Despite calls from Clare GAA chairman Michael McDonagh for the competition to be scrapped in favour of an earlier start to the league, Jackie Cahill of sports website babble.ie says Sundays game allows both sides to run the rule over their respective squads
Meanwhile Tipp boss Eamon O'Shea has named his side for Sunday's clash, with just three of the side that started their All Ireland final defeat to Kilkenny lining out for the clash in Sixmilebridge.
Brendan Maher captains the side from wing back, with the likes of Seamus Callanan and Shane McGrath named on the bench.
Throw in on Sunday is at 2pm.
