Brennan: Unpredictability a certainty for Banners 2015 opener

Clare are now just over 24 hours away from their first outing of 2015 when they will take on Tipperary in the Waterford Crystal Cup Quarter Final.

The Banner's preperations for the new year continue this afternoon though as they take on Wexford in a senior hurling challenge game in Boherlahan Co Tipperary.

It's expected Davy Fitzgerald will be without a number of last years U21 heroes, as they are in London for the weekend, while third level players who lined for their various colleges are also unavailable for selection for tomorrows clash.

Eamon O'Shea starts just three of the side that lost the All Ireland Final, and Eoin Brennan of the Clare People says that adds to the unpredicability of pre season games

Throw in tomorrow in Sixmilebridge is at 2pm

Elsewhere, the Waterford Crystal Cup quarter-finals get underway this afternoon.

In the opening game, Kerry will host UCC at Austin Stack Park from half-past one.

The other two quarter-finals will both throw-in at 2pm, with Cork IT taking-on the Cork hurlers while Limerick clash with Waterford in a rehearsal for their opening game in this season's National League.

The Connacht Senior Hurling League also continues today.

GMIT face the Mayo hurlers and Leitrim clash with Sligo.

Those matches will both start at 2 o'clock, but the meeting of Roscommon versus NUIG will take place under the lights in Ballyforan at 7pm.
