Mixed news on Irish injuries ahead of 6 Nations campaign

The IRFU have issued an update on some of the injury concerns ahead of the start of Ireland's Six Nations campaign.

Scrum-halves Conor Murray and Eoin Reddan remain a serious concern.

Murray will have further scans on his neck injury this week, while Reddan strained medial ligaments in his knee during Leinster's draw against Wasps on Saturday but he's still hoping to be fit for next week's opener against Italy.

Rhys Ruddock hasn't joined-up with the rest of the squad at Carton House this week, instead the flanker has been told to remain in Leinster to work on his rehab.

Dave Foley has suffered ligament damage in his wrist, which may require surgery, while Jamie Heaslip will be rested from contact training this week as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

Keith Earls, Robbie Henshaw and Kieran Marmion have all been cleared to train in full this week, however there's no update provided on Dave Kearney's shoulder injury, while Cian Healy and Sean O'Brien have also been omitted from the medical bulletin.
