The top seed beat Andy Murray in four sets – 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-love.
It's Djokovic's eighth Grand Slam title, and the fourth time Murray has lost in the final in Melbourne.

Hidden Cyclone was a superb winner of the BoyleSports Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown today.
The 6-5 favourite, ridden for Annette Mee by Andrew McNamara, produced a brilliant round of jumping and easily drew clear from Bright New Dawn and Twinlight for trainer Shark Hanlon.
He is likely to run next in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
