Colm Collins’ Men Top Division Three

Clare boss Colm Collins says he's pleased with manner in which his side began life in Division Three of the Allianz National Football League.

The Banner had fourteen points to spare over Wexford on a 1-16 to 0-5 scoreline, meaning they top the Division after the opening round of games.

David Tubridy contributed ten points, seven from frees, while debutante Pat Burke was the man who found the net.

Collins says while it was a good performance, there are still areas in which Clare can improve ahead of next weeks trip to Louth.

Elsewhere in Division Three, Armagh left it late to beat 14 man Tipperary by a point, 2-8 to 0-13 the final score, while Limerick got the better of Sligo in Kilmallock, 0-14 to 1-9. and Fermanagh beat Louth by 0-16 to 0-7

Separately, the manager of the Clare ladies football teams says their defeat to Cavan was an eye opener as to the standard they need to reach.

Clare. who have dropped to the intermediate ranks for the 2015 championship, suffered a heavy 4-25 to 0-5 defeat against Cavan in their opening Division Two League clash.
