One of the joint managers of the Clare U21 footballers says he was surprised to hear of suggestions to scrap the competition.
The move was mooted as part of measures to restructure the GAA's calender year, while changes to the age for minor grades are also suggested.

In recent weeks, the GAA have said they may not go ahead with the plans after strong resistance from several counties, including Clare.
