City trail leaders Leicester by 15 points and are also below Tottenham and Arsenal in the race for second and third.

Arch-rivals United, who crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of Liverpool this week, will be aiming to close the gap on the top four.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini knows the match will have a different feeling compared to most games.

Elsewhere at 4pm, second placed Totthenam welcome Bournemouth to White Harte Lane.

Before that, Newcastle face Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby with only one point separating the two sides at the bottom  of the table.

And Liverpool make the trip to a Southampton side sitting just above them on goal difference.

Both those games kick off at 1.30pm.

Jose Mourinho has signed a pre-contract deal to replace Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.

Former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach Mourinho has been persistently linked in the media with the Old Trafford job since departing Stamford Bridge for the second time in December.
