Kelly crowned GAA Player of the Week

Clare joint hurling captain Tony Kelly says they must now concentrate on their championship opener against Waterford on June 5th.

The Ballyea man struck for a late double to help the Banner claim the National Hurling League title with a one point win over the Deise in Thurles.

They'll renew rivalries again in just under 4 weeks time, and Kelly they'll have to be ready.

Meanwhile Kelly has been voted as the GAA.e Player of the Week after his last minute heroics.

He received over 52% of the public vote, beating off competition from Waterford marksman Patrick Curran to take the honours.

He follows in Ballyea clubmate Gary Brennans footsteps after he won the award following the footballers success in the Division Three Final.
