Collins Urges Players To Be Mean In Defence Ahead Of Munster SFC Showdown With Limerick

Clare boss Colm Collins is urging his team to be mean in defence if they want to book their place in the Munster Semi Final.

The Banner were promoted from Division Three of the League in 2016 as champions, with promotion being initially secured thanks to a superior scoring difference.

Throughout the League campaign, Clare racked up some big scores, including 2-17 in the victory over Kildare in the decider.

Collins says the concession of 1-19 in that game is a cause for concern though, and feels they cannot allow Limerick to get that much on the scoreboard.

The starting 15 for that game is due to be named this evening, with no new injury concerns for management to contend with.

Podge Collins is available for selection before he turns his attention to hurling next week.

The Cratloe man says everyone is driven to continue their upward curve, particularly the more experienced members of the squad.

Throw in on Sunday at the Gaelic Grounds is at 2pm, live commentary here on Clare FM in association with Flan O'Neill Building Supplies and Fuel Center Smithstown Shannon
