Protests In Athens As Greece Defaults On IMF Repayment

Eurozone ministers are to hold a conference call this morning to consider Greece's request for a new 2-year bailout from the EU.

It follows Greece's default on a €1.6 billion repayment to the IMF.

The country's banks remain closed as the country waits for Sunday's referendum.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says talks on a new deal for Greece can't happen until after the vote.

Without an agreement, Greece looks set to default on its loans to Europe, forcing it out of the euro.
