A Killaloe area councillor is defending his decision to back plans for a controversial road in South East Clare.
Seventeen Councillors voted in favour of including the Limerick Northern Distributor Road in the county development plan, including Fianna Fáil's Tony O'Brien.

That's despite strong opposition from residents in the likes of Parteen and Clonlara, who now say they intend to make their opposition known to An Bord Pleanala.
Councillor O'Brien says he is satisfied that the right decision has been made.
