The Department of Justice says it fully supports the demands of the Charities Regulator to be assigned more staff so it can keep up with its workload.
The comments come after it emerged that the regulator believes it only has a third of the total staff it needs to perform its roles properly.

The regulator currently has 12 staff, which is set to rise to 20 by September – but has also requested more staff, which the Department of Justice says its supports.
