Students Could Face Waiting Lists Of Up To Three Weeks For Counselling Services

Up to 1,000 students are expected to avail of the service at the University of Limerick this year, but students say a lack of funding is leaving counsellors struggling to cope with demand.

Its Students' Union is calling on the Ministers for Health and Education to come together to make mental health in universities a priority in October’s budget.

ULSU Academic Officer Marian O'Donnell says increased funding is an immediate priority.
