The army bomb disposal team was called to a school in Ennis yesterday amid fears that a quantity of chemicals there were unstable.
A controlled explosion was carried out near St. Flannan's College yesterday, by the Army Bomb Disposal Unit.

They had been called to the school by Gardaí, who were notified when the chemicals were discovered.
The chemical in question is commonly known as 'Brady's Re-Agent', and is routinely used in laboratories around the country but becomes hazardous over time.
The bomb disposal team arrived at 12:15, and the scene was declared safe within half an hour.
