A Clare Senator says he's confident Irish Water will remain in place, despite the latest blow to hit the beleagured state utility.
Eurostat's ruling that Irish Water isn't receiving enough income from the public to be considered separate to the government means that debts associated with Irish water remain on the Exchequer balance sheet

This has led to calls for the company to be scrapped altogether.
However, Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway insists it should be retained.
