Clare has some of the lowest rates of tax offences in the country.
An RTE analysis of Revenue Commissioners data has found that around 156 people here have been convicted of failing to lodge income tax returns between 2002 and 2014.

The rate of offences is less than a quarter than in Roscommon, where the highest rate was recorded.
In total, more than 11,000 people were convicted of failing to lodge income tax returns during the 13 year period, with fines totalling over 20 million euro levied.
