Landowners are being encouraged to avail of a new scheme addressing overgrown hedges throughout County Clare.
Ten thousand euro has been allocated to towards the maintanance of hedgrows on the county's local roads network over the coming autumn and winter.

The Community Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme, which is the first of its kind in the country will see a grant of €50 per kilometre being distributed to farmers landowners.
Bodyke Councillor Joe Cooney is encouraging people to apply for the scheme which he believes will go a long way towards preventing serious accidents on our roads.
