Clare's lifeguards have been honoured as the best in the country.
152 lifeguards from eleven counties competed at Irish Water Safety's National Beach Rescue Championships at Spanish Pointover the weekend, with Clare being awarded the President's Trophy.

They contended with challenging open water conditions in simulated emergency rescue scenarios designed to test their swimming and rescue board skills.
113,000 members took part in competitions throughout the year to qualify as top competitors for their counties before going head to head for the overall national title on Saturday.
