The Irish Aviation Authority says the number of flights at Shannon Airport dropped by 21% last month.
Figurs from the IAA have found an average of 56 commercial flights each day in August, significantly down on last year's figure.

Despite this, passenger numbers are on the up.
Officials say higher load factors there mean there has been a 7% increase in the number of passengers at Shannon so far this year.
