Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says one problem with the Good Friday Agreement is that the power-sharing government in the North is a collective, without any real democratic opposition.
Efforts are ongoing behind the scenes to resolve a row at Stormont, which has seen the First Minister Peter Robinson stand aside, and all DUP ministers but one resign last week.

The coalition is on the verge of collapse in the crisis, which centres on the status of the IRA.
