Two New Schools For Ennis To Be Completed In Two Years

Construction is due to be completed on two new schools in Ennis in two years time following the announcement of seven million euro in funding.

The Department of Education has announced the funding for CBS Primary School and Scoil Chríost Rí under the Rapid Schools Programme.

Two new state-of the art schools have been approved under the Department of Education's Rapid Schools Programme with combined funding of seven million euro.

4.5 million of which will go towards a 24-classroom school at CBS Primary School which will include two special needs classes.

Principal Dara Glynn is welcoming the announcement saying the project has been in the pipeline for a number of years.

A further 2.5 million euro has been allocated for the development of a new 12-classroom school in Cloughleigh.

220 pupils attend Scoil Chríost Rí, a large number of those being taught in pre-fabricated classrooms.
