While there has been a key focus on the number of burglaries in Clare in recent months, these CSO figures show a drop to 84 in the number of burglaries here in the second quarter of the year.

This is 25 less than in the first three months, and the second lowest of any quarter in the past two years.

Weapons and explosives offences are at their lowest level since 2013 and public order offences are up, but still 31% less than the same time last year.

There are over 300 reported theft offences, a figure last seen here in 2009.

The number of crimes relating to fraud and to damaged property is also up, along with drugs offences, with Clare Gardaí detecting 114 of those between April and June, the highest amount of any quarter since the start of 2010.
