184,000 euro in funding has been awarded to three community development initiatives in Co. Clare.
Its comes as part of over 3.7 million euro in funding announced by the Department of Environment, Community and local Development for Rural Economic Development Zone pilot projects, known as REDZ.

The development of a heritage and cultural quarter in the centre of Ennis, the creation of a destination for activity based holidays in the Scarriff area and the promotion of the creative arts sector in Shannon are among the proposed projects.
Under the scheme, Ennis will receive 94,500 euro, while 50,000 euro will go to Scarriff and 40,000 euro to Shannon.
