The dangers of smoking in the home are being highlighted in Clare this week as part of National Fire Safety Week.
This year’s safety campaign takes into account the significant number of domestic fires started each year as a result of burning cigarettes.

36 people die in Ireland each year as a result of fire, the majority of these fires occurring in the home.
Chief Fire Officer with Clare County Fire Service Adrian Kelly says there has been a number of these incidents in Clare.
