Dublin City Council To Discuss Emergency Motion On Longboat Quay

Dublin City Council will this evening discuss an emergency motion to ensure Longboat Quay residents aren't forced to pay for remedial works at the complex.

Last week, 900 residents were told they'd be facing evacuation from the docklands apartments built by Clare Developer Bernard McNamara, over fire safety concerns.

The cost of remedial works has been estimated at 4-point-75 million euro – with 2 million still to be financed by management and the apartment owners.

Sinn Féin Councillor Chris Andrews says it's unfair to expect the residents to foot the bill.
