A new adult Cyctic Fibrosis Unit at the Midwest's main hospital is to open to patients today.
A spokesperson for University Hospital Limerick has confirmed that the new unit is to open in the Leben building, which has recently been developed on the campus at Dooradoyle.

The building cost 16.5 million euro and includes a 24-bed neurology/stroke unit and a symptomatic breast unit, and much of the funding had been covered by local CF campaign groups.
