Ballyea-based President Of Ógra Fianna Fáil Says A Study Now, Pay Later Plan Would Help Students

The Ballyea-based President of Ógra Fianna Fáil says a propsed 'study now, pay later' plan for third level education could protect students from having to turn down college places.

It follows reports that an expert group, set up to advise the Government on how to finance the soaring cost of college education is considering higher third-level fees, funded through a student loan system.

It estimates that annual funding must rise by one billion euro over the next decade, if Ireland wants to deliver quality education to the growing number of college entrants.

Ógra Fianna Fáil have proposed a similar initiative, President and Ballyea man Eoin Neylon says something needs to be done to protect students' future.
