The impact of the Easter Rising in Clare will be explored at an event in Ennis tonight.
In the first of a series of lectures, Oral historian Dr. Tomás Mac Conmara will focus on how the 1916 rising has been remembered and commemorated over the last 100 years in the county.

It follows the launch of Clare's programme of events for Ireland's 2016 centenery which takes place at the De Valera Public Library from 6.45pm
Tomás interviewed 150 of Clare's oldest citizens and he says there's a real connection in Clare to 1916.
