Shannon Airport's rich and colourful history is being celebrated in a series of photographs of some of the world's most powerful and celebrated people who have passed through the airport.
Photographs include all of the US Presidents since John F Kennedy, Pope John Paul the second, Boris Yelstin, Nelson Mandela and numerous movie stars who transitted Shannon during the heyday of air travel.

The permanent exhibition which is being launched this evening includes more than 60 images capturing the 70 year history of the airport.
Ann Coyle, who's originally from Kilmallock, is in one of the photographs, pictured with movie star Gene Kelly.
Ann says he was a pleasant, charming man, the very same as he appeared in the movies.
