Clare government TDs have expressed confidence that measures will be taken to protect the future of rural GP services.
Clare's four Dáil Eireann members were all present for a meeting at Corofin Hall last night, where hundreds of people from all over the county and beyond spoke of their concerns for the future of general practice in rural areas.

Doctors say their income has been slashed in recent years, and show that the recent loss of a GP in Feakle could be the tip of the iceberg, as young doctors are not applying to replace outgoing medics.
Last night's meeting heard commitments that supports to help doctors will be restored – IMO GP Committee member and Lahinch Dr. Michael Kelleher says this now needs to happen.
