This further increases the chances of flooding in homes along the banks of the Shannon, including Springfield Clonlara.

Meanwhile, flood waters entered a number of homes in the Midwest overnight.

In County Clare a number of homes have been inundated after the River Blackwater burst its banks.  There were also reports of flooding in other homes in Clonlara as well as the Ballybeg area of Ennis.
