A Clare postmaster says the future of the post office network remains uncertain despite the announcement of a renewed contract for cash social welfare payments.
The current contract was signed in December 2013 for an initial period of two years, with an option for a four year extension.

It has now been extended for a further twelve months with Tánaiste Joan Burton saying it will help sustain business throughout the whole Post Office network.
But Kildysart man Tom O'Callaghan says it doesn't provide long-term security for the service.
