Raheen Wood Steiner School has been given permanent recognition following a campaign spanning over two decades.
The first of its kind to be established in the country, the multi-denominational primary school follows in the footsteps of Mol An Óige Steiner School in Ennistymon, which received the status last year.

Permanent recognition allows schools to apply for funding under the Schools Building Programme.
Clare Labour TD Michael McNamara is welcoming the announcement, saying those involved in the school are keen to lodge an application with the Department of Education for a new purpose-built facility.
