Mandate's Midwest representative says Tesco workers will strongly resist any attempt by the company to change their pay and conditions.
The company has told staff they want to change the conditions for all workers employed since before 1996, meaning a 2 euro an hour wage cut for some.

According to the union, this would leave some employees around 6 and a half thousand euro worse off per year and it's thought more than 20 employees at the stores in Ennis and Kilrush could be affected.
Mandate's Karen Wall says they will begin negotiations with the company shortly, and if these are not succesful, strike action is possible.
