Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a fatal accident in the village of Ardrahan to contact them.
A 66 year-old man, who is understood to be a resident of a local nursing home, was hit by a vehicle on the N18 shortly after half past 12 on Monday morning

A parked Garda car was also struck, injuring two officers who were standing outside but their injuries have been described as non-life threatening.
Gardai say a number of witnesses came forward shortly after the crash, in which an elderly man died.
They're appealing to anyone who may have been in the south Galway village, between 11pm on Sunday night and 1am on Monday morning, to contact Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842877.
