A housing charity is calling on the new Government to restore a requirement which would would see 20% of all new property developments provided for social housing.
Respond has been outlining a number of measures to tackle the social housing list, on which there are more than 4,000 families in Clare.

Its calling for a large-scale programme of social housing construction, a national register of all land assets in the country, a dedicated Minister for Housing and Planning and provisions for public acquisition of private lands, by compulsory purchase if necessary.
