Clare's Fianna Fáil TD remains hopeful that his party's efforts to have Mícheal Martin elected as Taoisech will be successful.
Fianna Fail has been meeting with a number of independent groups over the past fortnight in the hope of forming a stable Government and further meetings are planned for next week.

A group of independent TD's, including Kilmihil Dr Michael Harty, now dubbed "the rural five", have aligned themselves with Fine Gael but Deputy Dooley doesn't believe this has left his party out in the cold.
