The Clare-based former President of the INTO says the union is committed to continuing the fight to restore pay levels for young teachers.
It's after a motion was passed at the organisation's ongoing conference in Wexford calling on the incoming government to reverse a decision made in 2011 under which pay scales were cut for new teachers,

The changes mean a potential loss of over a hundred thousand euro throughout a career.
The INTO unsuccessfully campaigned against the cuts at the time but Sean McMahon says they are determined to keep the issue on the agenda.
