New Central Statistics Office figures on crime have shown an increase in the number of rapes, sexual assaults and kidnaps.
There was also a massive increase in the number of offences related to begging.
The figures released this morning show a 15 per cent rise in the number of sexual offences in 2015.
This includes 14 per cent increase in the number of sexual assaults and a 12.6 per cent rise in cases of rape.
The number of kidnaps and related offences rose by a quarter, with a 75.5 per cent increase in the number of cases of false imprisonment.
There was 593 recorded murder threats – an increase of more than 42.2 per cent on 2014.
However the number of actual murders and manslaughters fell by almost 30 per cent.
Public Order offences rose by just under 2 per cent – but this was driven by a huge increase in the number of begging offences.
Other social code offences, of which the majority relate to begging, increased by 176 per cent – driven by the homeless crisis.
The figures also show that the number of burglary, theft, drug and weapons offences all fell by between 2 and 5 per cent.
