Union Representing 20 Tesco Workers In Clare Hits Out At Pay Cuts In Light Of Profits

A union representing over 20 Tesco workers in Clare is hitting out at the company for attempting to cut workers' pay in light of increased sales.

The supermarket giant has reported revenues of 2.5 billion euro over the past year, at a time when workers are being balloted over industrial action.

The Mandate trade union says the company is looking to enforce pay cuts of between 15 and 35 per cent on some workers.

Divisional Organiser for Clare, Karen Wall says the staff are extremely angry.
