Clare County Council's Chief Executive will be honoured with a reception this afternoon as he steps away from the role.
Tom Coughlan was appointed as county manager in 2009, having begun work in Clare's local authority in 1995.

Ahead of his retirement, Coughlan has reflected on his time here, and on the changes in local government over recent years.
He's described the local property tax as a step forward in providing funding for local government, but admits it's not perfect.
