A Shannon Councillor hopes every effort will be made to avert job losses at Intel's facility in the town.
It comes following an indication by the company that there will be job cuts here in Ireland as it looks to reduce its worldwide workforce by 11%.

There are currently around 200 people employed at the tech giant's plant in Shannon and some 5000 nationwide, however there's no confirmaton yet on where the cuts will be made in Ireland.
Sinn Fein's Mike McKee hopes any redundancies here will be sought on a voluntary basis.
