House Prices Continue To Rise In Clare

A Ennis estate agent claims property prices in the county have a long way to go before building here will become attractive for developers.

New figures published in today's Irish Examiner show a jump of 21% in the value of property sold in the county last year, with average price up by 3,000 euro to 105,000.

This is one of the slowest rate of growth in the country, and the property market in Clare is now the least valuable in Munster.

Meanwhile, the average rent per month here rose just under 3% to 524 euro and Diarmuid McMahon of Sherry Fitzgerald McMahon says landlords are also struggling.
