It's claimed temporary encampments in North and West Clare are impacting on tourism in these areas.
Councillor Bill Slattery says a number of camps, involving caravans and camper vans, have previously sprung up at the likes of Cregg beach in Lahinch and remained there for a number of months.

He fears a similar situation will occur this summer and that it will dissuade tourists from visiting these sites due to restricted access.
Councillor Slattery wants various agencies to come together to look at the issue.
