Three Quarters Of Patients Over 75 Wait On Trolleys For Over Nine Hours

Three quarters of patients over the age of 75 have been forced to wait on trolleys for more than nine hours at the region's main hospital.

New figures from the HSE show University Hospital Limerick had one of the worst records in the country in January and February, but delays span emergency departments across the country.

The Irish Independent reports that 10,000 of our country's elderly have been forced to wait more than nine hours, many of them sick enough to need a hospital bed, while others were treated and sent home.
