The Consultant in Charge at Ennis General Hospital doesn't believe there will ever be a return to 24 hour emergency care there.
Opening hours at the Medical Assessment Unit have now been extended to include weekends in an effort to improve services and reduce pressure on the ED at University Hospital Limerick.

The MAU in Ennis will now operate from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6 at the weekend.
