Planned Closure Of Service For Clare’s Disabled Averted

The planned closure today of a transport service for people with disabilities in Clare has been averted.

The personalised bus service which offered door-to-door transport for up to 50 people, was due to close today due to a funding shortfall, but following extensive talks, the service has now been extended until June 17th.

In the meantime, Clare Bus will meet service users to outline plans for a long term transport plan, backed by the National Transport Authority.

Manager of the DPOC, Martina Halpin says there's great relief today.
