11 new speed camera zones will be in operation across Clare from next weekend.
Its part of a Garda initiative to reduce fatalities on our roads and will see speed cameras operating in areas of the county where 11 fatal incidents, 6 serious and 46 minor incidents occurred.

It comes amidst calls for an increased Garda presence on our roads to tackle reckless driving.
The Clare Garda Division carries out more checkpoints than most other counties but Councillor Paul Murphy wants to see an increased presence on roads, particularly in Clarecastle:
